Pocket DJ

I just think there’s something geeky nerdy cool about this. Obviously, its nothing like the real decks/software. Because it turns out that it’s only a game and doesn’t say anywhere bout being able to mix your own tracks/playlist. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could ? Like touchscreen device thingy that you could carry in your pocket.

Then, a friend(@pandamerv) told me about this other device, the Pacemaker. Looks really nice but it’s gona cost you $599-$699.

So, what about other touchscreen device(s) ?

  • Mixmeister Scratch - the iPhone’s multitouch screen would it such a seamless experience but judging from the short video, seems that it’s only meant for playing a single track. And scratching on that single track ? Gimmicky.
  • iPhone-DJ - this looks more useful but as it says..it’s very early in development and no release date has been set. Open source. Seen some sources uploaded.
  • PvD DJ - guess who decided to come up with an iPhone app. I think this should turn out to be quite interesting. No pricing or release dates announced yet.
  • Touch Mix Deadmau5 Edition - the other DJ who also decided to release an iPhone app that allows you to mix 10 exclusive tracks from him.
  • Samsung Beat DJ M7600 - Looks like Samsung is coming out with a touchscreen phone catered to likes of a DJ.

Well until then, I’m just gonna pretend to be a DJ on my trusty NDS. I hope there’s gonna be a crowd tho … virtually … so sad ;)

p/s somebody should so make a simple DJ’ing app for the NDS.It would totally rock.
