I came to own what appears to be a counterfeit/clone SNES-001 console. It looks exactly the same as an authentic SNES console, except for some jarring typo’s & subtle differences.

Having noticed some of these differences, I started comparing to pics I obtained of another SNES console which I believe is an authentic. I think you can conclude for yourself too. I had thoughts if this might be a ‘Playtronic’ set(manufactured in Brazil),but I doubt so since this unit had NTSC video output. I don’t think Nintendo would allow such mistakes in their manufacturing.

It plays SNES/SFC cartridges perfectly fine. Although I didn’t have any carts with SuperFX chips to test.

Anyways, I’ve returned the console to the local seller to get my refund.

See pics of the console in detail(via link to flickr above).
